When you have a negative thought about your pain, acknowledge the thought. Then tell yourself that you are safe. You are strong. Then think of your surroundings and of something pleasant.

Chronic pain can be from a trauma caused by someone else. Forgiveness can set you free.

Think of something you would like to do and work towards accomplishing that goal. Example would be to walk a mile, work in the garden.
